Vodafone, Airtel and iphone for India

It's time to smile again, my fellow iphone lovers in India. When the iphone comes to India, you will not be forced to go and wait at the doorsteps of vodafone to activate your handsets. Bharti Airtel also has signed a deal with Apple to bring the cute iphone to India. The exact time of the launch is yet to be known. However, Diwali is predicted as the most probable time according to sources. Along with this bold step, Apple has further expanded the list of countries to launch the iphone. The new countries include Mexico and the whole lot of Latin Caribbean countries. America Movil has signed a pack with Apple to take iphone to these countries.

Moving ahead, Singapore, Australia and Philippines are the new countries in the Apple's list, where iphone will be launched later this year. Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) has won the stake in these countries. Apple has already sold 5.5 million iphones and the target to sell 10 million by the end of 2008 is no longer a distant dream with all these happenings. The best part for now, is of course the choice for all my Indian brethren to choose either vodafone or Airtel, when the iphone comes to India

iphone Forward March

A bad news for the few selected carriers, yet a great relief for iphone lovers, that Apple's magic box is going to settle down in the hands of two carriers in Italy. This decision of Apple definitely is capable of worrying the appetite of AT&T and other hand picked carriers in other countries where the gadget is already released. Complains from customers will certainly come down with this first step toward liberalization of the gadget. Well, I think it's high time for all telephony service carriers around the globe to approach Apple with begging bowls for partnership. Not a bad idea at all.

In spite of the present development, AT&T seems cool headed watching the breaking news. This must undoubtedly be because of the five years bond between the two business partners. Lucky AT&T!!!! Similarly O2 is kicking cool in the UK and Ireland, T-Mobile is greedily gnawing away in Germany and Austria, France Telecom's Orange is fanning furiously well in France.

Finally, Vodafone is heard to be experiencing a tough time, sorting out how to get the full share in the other nine countries, after losing half to Telecom Italia in Italy. Rogers Communications in Canada is rumored to be laughing away, foreseeing their prospect of prospering through the blessings of Apple. The release of iphone will decide the resurrection or burial of sweet old Blackeberry in Canada. For now we can only wait and watch. Read on......

DJ Nitrogen’s ringtones for iPhone

iTunes supports an incredible half a million ringtones. No one is likely to use all of them. In fact, few people are likely to use more than a thousand of them in many years of using iPhone. Nevertheless, for all its abundance of choice, all that iTunes offers you at present is the ability to purchase ringtone and use them on your iPhone. For some people, that’s quite enough.

Bu DJ Nitrogen’s Ringtone Lab is the perfect tool for you if you want to do more. You can make your own ringtones, save and share ringtone recipes—the data that defines the ringtone, including fade, stop and start options—with others, and so on.

There are two things we particularly like about this service. For one thing, it joins you into a community, so that you can see what ringtones others are using, share your creations, and in general have real fun with people rather than just play with features on your own. Secondly, it makes sure that everything is legal. When you share a ringtone with another Ringtone Lab user, they get only your ringtone recipe, and not the actual audio file—and they can use your recipe only if they have purchased the main ingredient: the song.

Since multiple recipes are possible for a song, in the near future we can expect to see top ten recipes, votes and rankings for recipes based on most shared, or most used, and so on.

The beta version is on, at $4.99 per license. Number of ringtones? Unlimited. Get it here.

Readdle’s native app for iPhone

Ever notice a nagging problem with iPhone? When you open attachments in your email, you can’t store them on the iPhone itself. So if you are offline, you have no access to these documents.

Readdle has just announced plans to address this problem. Last year, Readdle had launched a web based service that let you upload documents or eBooks to your Readdle account and read them conveniently from your iPhone. After the release of the SDK, Readdle has decided to take the native apps route. Plans for a new, more efficient service have just been announced.

The native app will offer all that the web based service does, including free storage space, support for all major document formats and provide the much-needed offline access to documents. The new service will let you forward emails with attachments to a custom Readdle email address--this will in fact send the document to your iPhone, so you can access it offline.

A great combination of reading convenience and storage capability. Take a look at the web app for now.

iPhone in India, at last!

For those of you in India who have been reading about iPhone, and watching cool iPhone videos on youtube, there is good news, finally. All the rumors and statements by “reliable Apple sources” have proved true, and iPhone is coming to India. In a major deal with Apple, Vodafone has earned the rights to sell iPhone in ten markets, including India.

We don’t yet know precisely when the launch will be-- "later this year" is the current theory. Pricing? Earlier Speculation suggested that the phone will sell at around Rs. 28000.

For all the excitement and hype, how will the iPhone fare? The Blackberry never quite took off , but then it was maybe too focused for Indian consumers who'd rather have a business phone and a fun device all at once. We like our phones to be functional and cool. With its phenomenal multimedia capabilities, the iPhone is sure to be a huge success.

iphone watch

When the iphone was first launched in 2007, there were many skeptics as much as or may be more than apple fans. I have tried my best not to bark back at that time, lest people think I have been bribed by someone (which is the least possible thing in this world of course) to defend the majestic gadget. The great journey of the gadget has just started, but the pace at which it is moving is really breath taking. Heard of it's scheduled voyage into the heartland of Blackberry (Canada) and ever hungry and fast growing Indian market. Well everyone knows about this, I guess even a kid who respects the value of greatness upholds the greatness of Apple. I pray that Mr. Bush will not blame Canada and India for shortage of iphones once it is launched in India and Canada as he did with the price rise of commodities and linked it to the fast growing middle class in Indian sub continent. Well this is politics of course. My humble prayer is to exempt this majestic gadget from the reach of mind blowing politics.

This blog is dedicated to the cause of winning iphone haters (for petty reasons) and to inform Apple faithfuls about the promises we all have in this small new generation phone. It is the rule of the game that the old should go and the new should be welcomed. In the present case we are just replacing with something new that will give us many things that the old failed to deliver. Still cynical? Go buy one and start using one, you are not promoting Apple, but getting yourself out of your old and worn shoes.

I have read many merciless reviews and comments on the iphone and surprisingly have not come such voluminous outpour on other phones, opps. In real life too, people criticize only those who stands a head higher than the others. This is not a shocking surprise actually. The success of this cute gadget speaks for itself without people barking back at those false prophets who denounce the amazing features of this simple looking but great appliance. The net income at AT&T is reported to have rose by 20% in the first quarter, which is directly attributed to the success of Apple's iphone. Seems countless people are willingly giving up their first love to join their warm hands with Apple and AT&T. Verizon must be grinding and cursing for having turned down the offer from Apple (I mean, if he rumor happens to be true). This is no great news of course, if you had been tracking the so journ of this most innovative rectangular box, you should have foreseen what is happening now and what is likely to happen tomorrow.

As it is said that, Apple Employees are forbidden to even wink and suggest about their forthcoming releases, I too respect this business like attitude. However, I am simply tempted to predict that many surprises are waiting for iphone faithfuls. Recently, I overheard someone discussing about availing free iphone applications to all users. Hmm.. this is still something which everyone knows, but believe me this conversation was meant to be top secret and the applications concerned are going to be something that reduces the stress on your brain. Keep on reading and pray without ceasing that the next release of iphone happens sooner than expected and the innovative applications being designed in secret, away from the world of Steve Jobs are as handy as your car keys. If you are an Indian or a Canadian be grateful to Apple. If you belong somewhere, where this gadget is yet to be released, don't worry for the conquest pace of this phone is much faster that the expedition of Alexander the Great. Keep on waiting with folded hands, Apple is is becoming a perfectionist day by day

Folks, don't mistake me for a prophet of Apple, I am just a layman, I don't know who the hell is Steve Jobs and care nothing about how he look like. I only love the gadget I have in my hand.
